yeah...we're locking in
25th November 2026
Udupi
You've hounded us time and again about our wedding, so here's something that can help you plan your trip around the wedding
Start Planning βLogistics
November's gonna be packed β flights and trains get booked soon. Sooooo we recommend you start booking your flights and trains ASAP as possible π
The nearest airport is Mangalore International Airport (IXE), about 60 km from Udupi.
Udupi Railway Station is ideal if you're travelling from Bangalore or Mumbai β scenic AF. Oh oh plus, Vande Bharat from Bangalore sooooo supes great views.
If you got a car, then drive down! The roads are great and it'll be easy for you to get around town.
Local Transport
Navigating around Udupi is pretty chill β if you don't have a car, it's fine BUT there's NO Uber, Rapido, Ola or Namma Yatri just FYI.
The prices are pretty reasonable if you're looking to travel around by yourself.
No app-based rides, so you'll have to hail autos the old-fashioned way. However, they'll take you by the meter. For cabs, you can hire for the day. You can just let either of us know if you want to and we'll get you connected with the drivers.
Pretty easy to go around in these if you're planning to go to Mangalore or Manipal from Udupi. The drivers think they're F1 drivers, just in case y'all wanna experience that.
Food
Iconic vegetarian food and equally delishhhhhh non-veg. Yummy in your tummies.
Please don't come for Bisi Bele Baath β people may give you the side eye.
Explore
Since most of you are travelling this side of the country for the first time, there are some surrounding places you can add to your itinerary and make it a longer trip. You could also head to a whole different state and pit stop at Goa if you feel like π€·π»ββοΈ
(which means you should apply for leaves right away, plan your stay and so on)
If you're into visiting temples then please visit.
But ideally don't go here. It's crowded AF. Drop Sunaina a text when you plan your itinerary and she'll suggest nicer beaches.
You can visit the temple if you want to OR you can try water sports here.
Similar to Murudeshwar. Temples or water sports.
India's highest plunge waterfall. November is post-monsoon β the falls will be at full force.
The drive is SO worth it + you'll smell coffee as soon as you enter Coorg! Great if you want 2β3 extra days in nature before or after the wedding.
Shopping
If you've been planning to buy some kanjivaram sarees, you can definitely check out these places that Sunaina's shopped from herself π€·π»ββοΈ
Coastline
Brosephs, you'll love these beaches and must definitely go there before it becomes the next Goa.
You can go here IF you want to visit the St. Mary's Island since there's a ferry.
Plus, they have a bunch of cool water sports β but mind you, it's crowded AF.
Basalt rock formations declared a national geological monument.
Take a 15-min boat from Malpe.
Very local, almost no tourists. And a very well-manicured beach.
20 km from UdupiThere are a few more hidden gems further out she can help you with.
they may be a bit too farWhat to Pack
Post monsoon, it's cooler than the regular summer months.
25β32Β°C during the day. Evenings drop to around 22Β°C.
Occasional showers but nothing major.
Light cottons and linens for daytime. Comfortable footwear for temple visits (you'll be barefoot a lot).
And please wear traditional clothes (kurtis/sarees) if you plan to visit temples.
Sunglasses, a hand fan if possible, and more sunscreen than you think you may need.
Wedding Week
We're hosting you for two nights β here's the plan. If you're coming early or staying on, use this as your anchor and build around it.
Guests arrive and check in.
The ceremony will be at Amrith Garden. The bride and groom will have respective rituals before the wedding which will prolly start at like 7AM. If you wanna attend you can let them know. And then the wedding is at 9:30 AM.
And yes, you WILL get to eat food on a banana leaf as well.
Comfy clothes so you can dance, drink, eat and ENJOY! π«ΆπΌ
Need to Know
A few things to keep in mind before you travel.
November is peak season. Manipal kids have their convocation ceremony taking place then so places will get booked out!
Locals speak Tulu and Kannada. But y'all can speak English and Hindi β no one's gonna send you awayβ¦this isn't Bangalore.
Remove footwear at temples. Please pack a kurta/kurti just in case you feel devotional and plan a visit to the temple.
